Scholar Conduces Research for Solution to Aid Flat Feet
36 year old student Chilhwan Kim of West Harbour, New Zealand, suffers from flat feet. As a result, he contends with extreme pain when walking or standing for long periods of time. Kim, who is currently completing a Master’s degree in osteopathy, searches for answers and conducts research in hopes of a solution to flat feet. “The primary treatment options for flat feet are limited to wearing corrective shoes, but there is manual therapy and exercise available for long term improvement,” Kim said. He believes there is no long-term solution. “In our treatment we use balance ligament tension which is related to balancing out ligament problems. I was thinking that treatment could help more long-term,” he said.
