A group of 10,000 women aged 65 and older were surveyed and tested by walking a certain distance. The team then focused on those who went on to have a foot or ankle fracture. Those who were more likely to have a foot fracture had osteoporosis, over 50, and were older and less physically active. Younger, overweight, and more physically active were to have ankle fractures.
